Yeah I don’t think Embiid on the perimeter in of its self is that bad. You can live with the jump shots they made over him. but you can’t live with zero rim protection/lack of DOB when he’s out there on an island.

The advantage of the three guard lineup is that it allows three players to initiate off the dribble, and multiple drive/kicks, and spreads the floor. If they are going to be stagnant with Embiid (don’t have to be!) there is no reason to have 3 guards on the floor. just put Barlow in the dunker.

They all want Maxey to be the top guy late and he has earned that position. However that does not mean that Maxey needs to shoot every possession. Last night Maxey taking a shot felt pre-determined. Part of being top guy is playmaking, the rest of the team needs to help him with movement

Embiid with Dom works great as does Embiid with Watford in very small sample size but I think it tracks from what we know. plus 36 in 77 possessions (obviously won’t be that good). I think Embiid needs interior, long athletic assistance.

Embiid had some struggles on defense but a lot of that was everyone else losing shape and failing to rebound.

Maxey is playing out of control. team lacks chemistry with this lineups which makes since with lack of time together but still shouldn’t be this brutal.

Yeah the numbers with those 2 plus Barlow are very good. I do think Jo needs some protection at this point which could cause lineup questions/problems.

Yeah I don’t think they anchoring a top defensive is a fluke even with regression.

Yeah Oubre is tough because it’s good that he‘s confident and has quick trigger. but he needs to be able to balance both shooting well and making the right play/not be a black hole which is something he’s never done for a long stretch. And I do like him the limitations just exist.

for what it's worth over 40 possessions the lineup with Barlow is plus 19.8. In general lineups with PG and Embiid are very good as are lineups with PG, Embiid and Barlow.

If they get healthy i am excited for VJ, McCain, KO, Watford and Bona/Drum. I think thats the kind of lineup that in the regular season could run teams out of the building in the current dreaded 3Q.

at this point it’s hard to go away from the 3 guard lineups so I think you push PG to 4, Maxey, VJ, Grimes/Mccain and Jo. Only problem issue is if Jo needs help at the 4 with rebounding. then not sure. could see KO at 3 because of length. what do you think?

Watford or Barlow. I think Barlow is perfect fit honestly. it will probably be KO but I don’t think there’s enough shots for him in the starting lineup.

Last night real struck me with the different pace of VJ and Maxey and how its complementary to another. Maxey‘s constant motion and speed coupled with VJ zero to Sixty speed. VJ is perfect payer to capitalize on the havoc maxey creates.

My guess is that he ends up replacing good players and therefore doesn't the benefit of playing with them. Especially with so many wings being injured. At least that's partial reason. I believe he has the tools to be a good complementary player in this league.

I agree so far he’s moving overall like someone much older. He looks rigid at times which is a word I would never if I used to describe him last year. guessing it will improve with time

Yeah, I think your right abound the 3rd in particular. it's important to break the zone quickly and they didn't have the best personal on the court to do so.
