I keep starting and quitting projects. I do some research and then run out of steam. Argh

I love making fingerless mitts out of thermal panty hose. I might also make earwarmers if I figure out how to sew it...

But I feel like there should be a craft that can be done with like, 15 den panty hose? Could i cut it into strips and knit with it?

My cast-on falls apart if I make more stitches!!! It is the ONLY cast-on that works with my ribbing. Argh
I want to knit a beanie so badly. But how do i calculate the stitches correctly. I guess I have to make a bigger swatch to get reliable measurements

In general i got over my breakdown even though the situation is unresolved and i have very little nice options. I guess even grueling work is work, unemployment was way worse

I try to mind my business but we've been neighbours for years and i worry when he drinks. It's a sad omen or something.
My Harry DuBois neighbour is off the wagon again. How's about I go for some cheap beers too and see if I feel better not knowing anything. Except I can't drink on my meds, the meds I take to be a good little worker
Like is it outrageous that I want to work normal hours and not be stressed out all the time

Like, my current temp job is exhausting but at least I'm not leaving my home more than once per month. I'm in talks for a job that pays less and I'd have to commute ~2 hours 2 days per week 😐

I'd love one of those jobs where you also have time to write fanfic on the clock. Would be a lot less stressful

I'm opposed to paying 30 euro for empty pill capsules. But this one supplement powder tastes like detergent made from burnt fishbones, so I think I'm going to have to.

I made a cream sauce today, and just like my tortellinis, it worked technically, my roux was good, but flavour combos were ass.

I'm making pizza to make myself feel better.

Like, putting some vegetables in the pan and when they're done adding a bit of pasta water really does make a sauce. Because the pasta water is more like a pudding
In that time in my life when I didn't yet have a pasta machine I liked pasta a normal amount, but looking back I was actually indifferent to pasta. I had no real obsession for it

Okay, so I'm linux-curious again. But apparently dual-booting isn't stable, and my older laptop cannot connect to my peripherals... at every turn the most reliably efficient solution is to just buy another laptop. At this point I have a growing stack of okay-ish laptops I can't use

One senior collague is out sick since yesterday, which happens, I guess. Except I just heard management is having a meeting about her absence on Monday. That kind of indicates she'll be gone for longer, no need to have a meeting about someone being out with the flu or spraining an ankle.

I've figured out the pasta machine, at least.
I made cake and grapefruit curd and. It's edible. At most. I have definitely baked better things.

I have a track record of enjoying almost any detective adventure the beeb puts out but lately the offerings have been flat and unmemorable.

I'm slightly of the opinion that interacting with art and taking it as a palimpsest can be interesting, actually. Fucked up painting restorations and soup can protests keep art alive in a different way from immaculate preservation. Time won't stand still, not for love, not for beauty

My apartment door has been whistling because of pressure diff and I figured no way I can realign a massively heavy fireproof 85 dB noiseproof door. But I looked at the hinges and some bolts were sticking out so I twisted them down until they were flush. And the whistling stopped.
