I had three loaves of bread all ready to go and the igniter on our oven decided to die.

I could only fit two in the freezer, and I made these scruffy muffys out of the third.

Repair tech says it’ll be 3-5 days until the new part comes in. Not great for a guy who bakes to cope with stress 😅

Very concerned that they will not be accurately portraying Victor as the biggest bitch baby ever

In January I read 8 books!

(Sure there’s another couple of days left in the month but I don’t think I’ll finish another one before then.)

it's crazy how none of this spurred a deeper policy debate about data privacy.

just about who has the right to collect, buy, sell, and own our data.

A couple of the breads I did this weekend. Dinner rolls, orange rolls, sandwich bread.

I’m not trans and I’m not going to speak for trans people but I am goddamn sick of ‘moderates’ blaming them for their own oppression.

Short answer: We live in hell.

Long answer: WE LIVE IN HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 🔥
Also can anyone explain how someone who isn’t even inaugurated yet is controlling things like this?

I know they depend on the lie but the way that internet experts pretend that everything is true for every situation baffles me. Sourdough ‘experts’ give precise times and temps like we don’t all have different starters. Nutrition ‘experts’ give strict rules like we don’t all have different bodies.

I made focaccia for the first time today, and it was way easier than I thought it was going to be, and it tasted way better than I thought it would (and I thought it was going to be pretty tasty).

I see a lot of “[X,Y,Z] are replacing us!” arguments from the manosphere and I guess I don’t get it because it seems like the solution to that “problem” is to be likable and good so that folks want you around but instead they’ve gone for ruining everyone else’s life.

It’s not the best song ever, but it’s been a good 15 years since I saw the movie and all you‘ve gotta do is just say the words “Cheetah Girls” and I’ll have Cinderella stuck in my head, and that’s a kind of power you can’t dismiss offhand.

One thing about baking that has really helped me be a better baker (and maybe a better human) is that you have to be ok with failing when you’re trying something new. It’s ok to throw something away and try again if it’s bad.

That being said, these dinner rolls turned out perfect on my first try 🥰

It’s that time of year… time to start binging Til Death Do Us Blart so you’re all caught up for the new episode. It’s the ten year Blartiversary! Not today, death!(?)

Today’s sourdough sandwich loaf. Not as pleased with it as I’d like; I keep trying to do open bake as my loaf pans don’t fit in my dutch oven, and yet my dutch oven loaves are just so much nicer no matter how much water/ice I put in the oven during open baking.

I’ve been shattered this week, so I returned to Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki for comfort.

This passage seemed apropos.
