There's a post going around Tumblr about feelings regarding AI art so if you're curious about my stance, this is what I responded with:
It begins with "I want to write a story", but you don't know how. Still, you try your best using what words you have. Eventually it gets easier, more enjoyable, and you discover that within this story you have a lot to say because it has so much of you in it. Over time your pain becomes your characters' pain. Your hopes become their hopes. Your flaws become their flaws... And at the end when they find love and acceptance you realize that you can find it too. And all the people who comment and tell you they are rooting for your characters are, in reality, rooting for you too. To those who use AI to write their stories "just because they want to see two characters kiss", I feel sorry for you. You have no idea the journey you deprive yourself of. The revelations you could make. The joy you could feel. The evenings when you write all night and begin to suddenly cry at 2am because a sentence you wrote resonated so hard within you that you are overcome with an emotion you thought you would never feel. You are so driven to want the end product that you deprive yourself of the journey. Write it bad. Write it scared. Just write it. Years later when you look back upon your work you will say "I remember that" and you will see the magic of a moment crystallized in time. And that one sentence that made you cry will make you cry again, and you will again feel all the emotions you felt before at 2am that day so long ago.
