In February we’ll have had Iris for 9 of her 11+ years of life and my partner has her name tattooed over his eyebrow. She’s our best girl and she always seems to get sick on weekends when the regular vet is not open.

WF let me know that my account is below zero which means I am out of SSDI funds until about 8/15. I had a number of one off expenses (contact lenses, vet visit, tires) in June and July and now I need help making it to my next check. 🌻

One of the most precious compliments i ever received was from the late @mollyboom.bsky.social last year and it popped into my head today so i went to go find the exchange.
She said “you are a life saver, a saver of life”.
She called a lot of people lifesavers but “saver of life” grabbed me.

All of this is the *exact* lifespan model that Mackereth (and probably others I should know about) lays out. When I encountered these posts on IG it was like a lens finally focused.

But she sent me $20 mutual aid often when I was waiting for disability and I sent her a collage I made based on her prompts.

I am a couple stitches away from finishing this cross stitch I made for a friend.
The pattern I bought from someone on Etsy and I used leftover thread from the mushroom kit I did earlier this year. Had to inscribe it when I ran out of the thread I needed to finish the flowers.

It stitches super fast and is big and chunky and, depending on the final form you want it in, could probably finish it in the next day or two. (Finding or making a pin cushion form would take longer than the stitching for sure.)

I’ve completed 9 colors out of 20 (excepting where I can’t add more of color 9 until after i stitch color 11) and it feels like maybe I’m on the descent toward finishing now.
