Major challenge in staffing is ASD teachers. $15k is not enough of an incentive to recruit teachers in the middle of the school year. Talks with DFT to increase the bonus. May need contracted teachers.

23. Mother of a student at Burns. Her son has autism, has been suspended seven times. They have refused to finish his IEP testing and said he is fine. He was missing for 45 minutes at school, someone in the community found him. Has reached out to the board and heard nothing.

We have fire drills, we need stop ICE drills. Nothing less than rehearsal will stop them. It takes real concrete practice.

20. You are spending a lot of money building new schools, what are we doing to maintain the schools we have. At Northwestern, we have a planetarium but it's been in disrepair for years.

As far as proficiency, they have experienced negative growth since 2009. What is the growth standard?

19. Granddaughter is a 1st grader at Thirkell, is autistic. Doesn't think she is getting the attention she needs. Does not have a communication device, does not have small group education, is put in a corner, keeps getting sent home. They're trying everything they can.

Teachers are missing a lot of lunch breaks, there is no one to cover them. Discussion for if they can be compensated for a missing lunch. Need clarification.
