Here you go, a new blogpost, with many apologies, as it has been WAY too long between such posts (although, as detailed, I have been away from sometime this autumn....).

Anyway, I give you my one of my successes of my recent trip to Shetland.

Enjoy.

So, with apologies for the interlude, here's another blog upload 'inspired' by finally banging in a Marsh Sandpiper for my Scottish List a couple of days ago....

Here we go. Cream-coloured Courser. A very good addition to my list in October 2004, the day before an even better bonus (Oven)bird..... .

My latest dross, complete with the obligatory Sooty and Sweep joke. Apologies.

Seems topical - following on from my Daurian Shrike account and relating to a 'get back on the bike' twitch almost exactly 3 years ago....

Another post on Confessions of a lapsed birder. This one relates to me eventually catching up with a Lesser Crested Tern. Back then it was gettable - twitchable - each summer, whereas in recent summers it's congener Elegant Tern has taken on the role. #birds

I can't guarantee the current rate of productivity will continue, but I've just banged out another blog post, making it a round 100 of these sorry tales published to date.... .

So, 'just' another 150 left.

You wait for weeks, and then two come along within a couple of days!

Yep, another account has just been uploaded to the 'Confessions of a lapsed birder' blog, inspired by recently connecting with a Kentish Plover for my Scottish list.

Closing on a 100 of these nonsense tales have now been published on this blog. I'll keep going until my audience pleads for mercy - all three of you!

Here's one from early 2008, and what was one of my favourite birding destinations in the really distant past.... 😊.

Here you go. A grim tale (see what I did there??) of what might have been way back when, and a less than grim tale of what was 9 years later, when I finally achieved some sort of redemption.

A colourful tale of eventually getting a gray (grey!!) bird OML.

Another. Related to my first-ever twitch from St Albans with Peter Ewer and Mike Thompson. Saw some top birds with Pete and Mike from this bird on. Anyway, if my turgid tales vaguely amuse go to collapsedbirder.blogspot.com?m=0 .

Here we go. Another saga from ancient history. All about my first Caspian Tern and the supporting cast, plus a little about my second. Again, still need it for Scotland. And please, no sniggering at the back of the class.... .

Here you go. I like to be topical. Seems like there's been roving gangs of Lesser White-fronted Geese this winter. Thing is, they relate to the Swedish reintroduction scheme, and as such, unlike 'my' bird back in January 1988 aren't countable. #birds

Black-eared Wheatear, back when they were untwitchable, one day birds. Turned out to be the same weekend as the then also untwitchable, mythological Red-flanked Bluetail. If Carlsberg (or actually good Merlot 😊) did weekends.

More nonsense. A very good one; if ever there was a Black-billed Cuckoo to see, it was this alive and active spring 2016 one, as opposed to a moribund one in the Scillies one October. Excellent tickage.
