Chronicling the slow & not so slow unraveling of systems, structures, ideologies. Taking a front row seat to our sociopolitical unraveling, environmental collapse, and the last cycle of rise and fall. Trained anthropologist and one time archaeologist.
Was wondering about this myself. But if we can save American democracy maybe we can limit the catastrophic planetary damage.

If Trump hasn’t felt threatened by Elon by now…besides, Elon is doing all the work for him, so why would Trump want to intervene when he can just do his favorite thing instead-sit back and enjoy the shitshow he created.

Snoopy fled civilization. Too bad civilization didn’t make it, but at least the grocery cart will come in handy while he’s on the The Road.

It’s how some people choose to deal with an unsolvable problem. And why not? The majority are humming along ignorant/oblivious/unaware. When one flight in a private jet wipes out an average person’s carbon footprint for an entire year, then yeah, it’s time to enjoy ourselves, too.

🚫doomer shaming.

Agreed about peak oil. I believe the resource depletion in World3 and LtG includes arable land, forests, minerals. We have definitely seen it across all of these areas, and I wonder about the impact of depleting resources that weren’t on the radar in 1972, ie minerals for chips, EVs, etc.

We tell hospice patients there is always hope, if not for a miracle, then for a “good death.”

If only we could hope for even that.
