In my "Build a LocalGov Drupal Website" course, I'll show you some of LGD's lesser known features, but also how to enhance them. For example, adding comments to blog posts.

We had to get the National Grid to temporarily switch off the electricity in the local area to allow a tree surgeon to prune this lovely old wild pear. It has a wild rose growing through it, so it should look even better when this flowers.

You know when you are living in the country when a pheasant rocks up in your garden.

I was impressed yesterday to see council Highways staff systematically marking up potholes for filling in the streets around where I live. Even the more remote lanes were being covered. Great news as there is no way to avoid potholes on these narrow routes across the countryside. #potholes

Why is moving house such a crap experience? It is time to change the process and find a better way to do it. We found a buyer 3 days after putting it on the market, but it has taken 6 months to complete. It is soul destroying and kills the excitement of finding a new place to live.

I am thrilled to see that my research on council chatbots has been used in this article by EBI.AI. I work with councils to help improve the performance of their digital resources and recently reviewed their use of chatbots in local government. ebi.ai/blog/local-g...

I recently unearthed my cassette collection in the loft whilst preparing to move. They were last listened to twenty seven or more years ago. Amazingly they still all play, but not on my old Sony Walkman as they both have sadly given up working.

I don't go to many live concerts now, but I can recommend the Peatbog Faeries who I have seen this year at Carnglaze Caverns in Cornwall and Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham-by-sea.

A morning at the allotment has helped to de-stress me after a week of dealing with issues around moving house. Hopefully this time next year we will have our own large veg patch in the garden of the new property. I will miss the allotment though - it is a haven of tranquility.

Great evening at Button House, otherwise known as West Horsley Place, the filming venue for the BBC series Ghosts. A tour of the house with storytelling and music. #Ghosts

Went to see the local flooding in Cobham. I was amused to see how many cars raced through it totally submerging cars coming the other way. Really selfish and stupid!

Looking forward to our next road trip with the cats, this time in sunny Devon! Bella and Meg are seasoned travellers and have visited Cornwall, Cumbria, Pembrokeshire, Herefordshire and Sussex on numerous occasions. Who else takes their cats on holiday? #cats #travellingcats
