Without adequate funding the shift to aczero carbon global economy is impossible. Thus at the 11th hour...

I'd totally forgotten the #COP29 venue when it's not hosting international climate negotiations is a football ⚽ stadium! So true to type we are heading for extra time and who knows last gasp penalty shootout!
Not an ideal environment to negotiate a fit for purpose deal!

The climate negotiations #COP29 are entering the final period, but sadly we do not seem to be making the progress on the quantum for the New Collective Quantified Goal needed to tackle the #ClimateEmergency. Lack of money is cited as the reason, but this is a false narrative.

Joined the ICCCAD, youth session at #COP29 on local mechanisms to enhance national capacity to ensure restorative support reaches communities facing Climate Emergency.
Key is systems need to be designed for the national context but without adequate funding they will be talking shops unable to act!

Can the G20 unlock #COP29? Although they are separate processes the G20 is 80% of emissions so clearly decisions made there, have implications here.
It's a chance to demonstrate G20 leadership and put the climate agenda at the centre of their discussions and thus unlock climate finance here.
