yesterday marks the end of the last time there was a work stoppage in the nfl, which lasted 135 days from march 12th, 2011, until July 25th, 2011.

the stoppage was imposed by owners and resolved by negotiation of a new 10 year collective bargaining agreement. excerpts from CBS:

the cowboys t5apy premium position profile shows low investments at wr2 and edge2 (parsons deal incoming), but there’s room for investment at dt (due to underperformance) and left tackle (due to being unproven), too

the giants t5apy high value profile (excerpt below) shows a lack of investment at the qb, and dt2 positions. wr is also an option as they could add a player better or worse than nabers and obtain a strong link structure. edge is also an option and may prompt a trade as brett kollman hypothesized

currently projecting the commanders to have around $291m of spending on the books if no extensions are given to tunsil and mclaurin, and around $318m if they are, which represents a $30m-$60m increase from their 2024 budget. cuts will lower that a bit, but spending is up in 2025
