Republican Party of VA leadership is already starting its lies about the likely redistricting ballot measure. Completely ignores the temporary nature of the change and the context in which the measure is being suggested (i.e. offsetting other partisan gerrymanders).

Wading through the posts and comments in the various Virginia Republican Facebook groups makes me pretty confident that they won't ever be able to understand why they lost so badly. And if they can't understand their failure, they can't adjust and avoid future failure.

Listening to the Albemarle School Board meeting from a few days ago. Sheesh. Many speakers upset with Ms. Spillman's (the at large rep) objection to a TPUSA Club's invited speaker need to learn the difference between a difference of opinion and invalidation of another person's existence.

I can now proudly say that I've been blocked by my congressman on his not-official-but-he-uses-it-like-it-is Facebook page. Seems like John McGuire (VA-5) can handle many things, but suggesting he might cry over the election results in November is a bridge too far.

My new hobby is getting blocked by MAGA on Facebook by being as nice as possible and only critiquing the content of their comments.

Man, Facebook is trying its hardest to feed me alt-right crap reels this morning. I mean, I'll watch one for some oppo research but get me back to the good stuff. Well researched and reasoned commentary by people like @hcrichardson.bsky.social and "Amanda's Mild Takes" is my preference, thanks.

Alright. If they can bring people back to face charges, they can bring them back to process correctly and then either actually properly deport (not render), bring criminal charges, or release. No more of this paying to house them at CECOT fascist bullshit.

Instead of having no tax on tips, why don't we force employers to pay a living wage that doesn't take tips into account? People in traditionally tipped industries will likely do better, we don't introduce confusion to the tax code, and we get a handle on a tipping culture that is out of control.
