I sort of call bullshit on this. The Disney deal was announced about a month before the Disney coup where Bob Iger came in and started cutting budgets, especially for Disney+. From the get go a foreign niche series with a high budget and IP Disney didn't own was an uphill battle

White guys look so similar dude. I love all of their work, but I am pretty sure if I was unprepared and you gave me pictures of Leigh Whannell, Zach Cregger, and Oz Perkins, I could not for the life of me tell you who's who.

2025 Democratic politics is that scene in every 70s movie where somebody gets their car stolen and runs down the street shaking their fist in the air yelling, "Hey, that's my car!!!"
Well, he won't. Now what?

Our goal as a society for the next 4 1/2 years should be to get a Weird Al song in the top 40 so that he can be the first person to get a song in the top 40 in 5 consecutive decades

Foreign friends, please don't come to the US right now. We're in the grip of government sanctioned monsters who have no interest in the law or anyone's wellbeing. I hate having to say it, but we're a dangerous place for you. Take care.

New Doctor Who season is quite good so far. The opener didn't blow me away but I thought it was a solid foundation and unlike last season clearly had some level of direction for the characters and a looming threat that's not your typical vaguely described oncoming doom. And episode two is great.

If you are in any creative or copyright dependent org of any kind, NOW is the time to speak up. You have until March 15 11:59 pm EST to send a note to the WhiteHouse on why we need to follow our current laws.

Heard bad things about Shane Gillis' new SNL monologue, it being the worst one ever etc. Just watched it and it's... fine? Like not the best of the best but had some good moments and ended on a high. The main issue was just a rough start that he then had to spend the whole monologue recovering from.

"Love Me" by the Zucheros is one of the best films I've seen in a while AND it's their debut. Kristin Stewart and Steven Yeun play a smart buoy and satellite respectively post-apocalypse both trying to be human and in love based on what remains of the internet. It's brilliant and moving.
