A finished drawing showing Jet the Hawk in a jumping pose, flicking his feathered bat thing. I really like this lineless version, and I'm finally proud of it not looking like a "coloring book" drawing. And here's the lineart version of it, for anyone curious, I used CSP's vector features to make the lining process very easy, and it's how I get cleaner lines.

A WIP screenshot showing the official sonic art reference, and my redraw of it, for now only in lines. I was really surprised at how fast I got mimicking what I see, so now I want to test out some coloring methods to make it look nice.

For tonight's haul, I was very motivated to doodle some tails poses and really push my construction techniques, and I'd say they came out great! I feel ready to share my process soon, and I'll move onto actually learning rendering for real!

Alright so I got blasted with midterms, norovirus and ruined sleep schedule, but I should get a bit of motivation and free time at last tomorrow to draw again. To make the best out of it, I will draw a request drawing if anyone would like, just comment what you want and I'll draw it!

Not getting much motivation to draw right now, but I did draw this out sort of formalizing and starting to piece together how to draw more realistically, I really want to focus more on materials and how to draw those better

A page detailing my learning so far of how objects are lit, how they behave, and how we can replicate that in simple drawings. I do want to focus more on materials and textures, and eventually figure out how to draw those in a way that makes sense to me, doesn't take too long, and looks good in a more cartoony style.

Just finished the next bit of progress, I am really unsure on how to continue modeling his eyes (plane + procedural texture, or lattice deformed sphere), don't mind that ramble if it doesn't make much sense, just know that best boi is coming together soon!

A screenshot showing the head mostly done, pretty much just missing his ears and hair strands. The eyes are mostly a placeholder for now, until I decide on how to best model them for a good cartoon rig setup that is also easy to use.

Here's the 2AM haul, used my reference drawing I liked and put down the base foundation, eventually getting a nice muzzle shape. I should get to the rest of the head tomorrow. Once again, I will frequently post progress and release it for free once it's done!

A test drawing shading tails, and adding an airbrushed gradient to make it a bit softer. I also added a bit of hard shading on the obscured leg, and while you can't see it, I have a more streamlined layer workflow so this only took about 2-3 hours to draw from scratch
