Thanks to Prof. Elżbieta Gumienna-Kontecka and all my incredible hosts and colleagues for the XV International Symposium on Inorganic Biochemistry in Wroclaw, Poland. It was a wonderful conference and I truly enjoyed my first visit to Poland.

Overdue post on our group summer party! Was great to hang out together in the SoCal sunshine and share some good food and drinks.

It is with great thanks, pride, and a touch of sadness, we say goodbye to Dr. Minjung Kang. She has been a fantastic postdoc and is headed back to her native Korea to begin a faculty position at Korea National University of Education. We wish her the best of luck in her independent career!

Thanks again to the Chemical Society of Washington (CSW) for honoring me with the Hillebrand Prize. It was a wonderful evening and I appreciate some old DC friends that came out to celebrate with me!

Congrats to the latest Ph.D. from the Cohen lab, Dr. Alysia Kohlbrand! It was great that Alysia's family could come see her defend and we had a great celebration with some Mongolian Hot Pot!

Thanks to Prof. Stefan Kaskel (TU Dresden) and the Humboldt Foundation for honoring me with a Research Award. I'm honored to part of this exercise in 'scientific diplomacy' and look forward to collaborating with Prof. Kaskel and visiting other colleagues across Europe.
