though i do agree that he has become worn down, more withdrawn and passive because of he does perceive the failure of the system (somewhere iirc?) and there is a point where he does say he choose to accept it in the beginning. but he does let london's demonisation of him and cruelty happen to him

i think in some aspects he does resist and try to act on his own accord (he wouldn't be an actually competent prosecutor if he wasnt) but i think generally he does kind of lies himself down "sacrificial lamb"-style to serve on a platter of 'justice'. but the Acts here are guided by anger and a chance to seek justice against a man that ruined his family and lead to his social ruin as well (familiar?) im not as well versed in how the asogi clan is affected by the japanese sense of familial shame and stuff but it is fascinating to me. like yah...

And One More thing: this is, in a sense, what kazuma has done only to a more extreme (and violent, angry) extent. as the son of the ashamed Asogi, being an orphan and the social stigma that japan puts on that, he suffers from similar ostracisation. but instead of lying down as bvz does, he Acts

its kind of beautiful it make me cry. for literally a decade (maybe more if ur me) everything is forced upon him and he deals with it as if he has no choice and that he must suffer for the good of others. now (with the support of others) he learns that he Can choose his own life

it makes me !!! for a decade of his life he has been a passive recipient of everything that has been thrown at him (reaper pseudonym and everything that that includes) and now he feels he's able to be proactive and choose and ACT on his own decisions and deny the things force on him

yeah!! i think the intention was to invoke the original world's finest series from the 1940s which is probably why its very tonally upbeat
