"𝑪𝒐𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒐, 𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒐 𝒔𝒖𝒎"

I write, therefore I am! Have been published many times over in trade pubs, but I want to follow my dream... write fun and interesting stories (and books) that end up being movies! The dreams need to begin somewhere!
Poems are not something I feel like I master, so I keep trying... my latest...

Title: Where I live.

Some people live in houses made of wood or stone,
With rooms and halls and windows to be shown.
But the place I live is hidden deep from view,
A world inside my mind, forever fresh and new.

What the fuck did she think would happen, voting for Trump, as a woman? And how in the hell is this the Democrats' fault?

Get a clue, Kat. You brought this shit on yourself and your female constituents.

Not sure if this was done as satire per se, but it does reflect the simple formulas for stories. Just something fun and thought-provoking.

Iconic writer Kurt Vonnegut's simple graphs show how to write the 3 stories everyone loves

Being anti-AI as I am (was?), I have to say that this opened my eyes a bit more. Until I read the post that got me here, I had just not considered collaborating with AI at all.

Watching this Mustafa Suleyman video gave me pause.

Microsoft is still the evil empire, but I do like what he had to say.

The more I think about this the more it troubles me.

X lost me because of how hostile the environment became. I'm not so much into politics either, and there seemed to be a lot more of that than I was looking for. OK, so I was not looking for any!

Maybe BlueSky is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Note: @rahaeli.bsky.social is a bully.

Been reflecting on discussions around "follow-farming" and the data used to support related claims. It's so important that the research we cite is robust and based on real-world analysis, not just simulations.

I disagreed and earned this label.

Because it is something that I would buy (simpleton logic...if I would buy it, someone else would buy it!).

It is a book of 500 writing prompts. I thought about 365 to make it a year, but then I thought maybe they will not like them all, so maybe I need to add more... so, 500!

Opinions???

My kid is an aspiring artist. Works for me as long as it is something she loves. Seriously!

A long while back, I came to her with plans for a kid book... her answer was, oh, those are too hard!

She came to me and said, I can do those now!

Gave her a list of what I need (a doz. images).

NOTHING!

So, I followed-up on the suggestion to find local writer groups.

Found one that appears to be large (ten chapters), but the update of their Web site leaves something to be desired... no contacts (yet)... bad email addresses, but I keep trying! 😇

Web site might be something I can help with! 😎

Although I have used MS Word exclusively, I have encountered an issue where my lapse at the university has caused my license to expire.

I used to have Office installed locally (purchase), but one of the upgrades apparently did away with that. 😡

Any thoughts on using Google Docs from now on?

Years back, I made friends with a literary agent (did some computer consulting for him), and he read and critiqued my 𝑆𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑟 story... about a gifted storyteller that was kidnapped by a group of terrorists, and soon learns that when he tells a story people are transported there, but...

My presence here is interact with fellow writers.

The question foremost in my mind is should I share story ideas and see what people think of them, or should I be concerned that someone might steal my idea?

I figure discussing ideas helps refine them.

So, are the ideas actually stolen or shared?

Although a piece of my heritage is Cherokee Indian, I have German, Scottish, and Irish... I have no proof of anything, but I feel that there is some sort of druid in that mix. Probably sounds just as strange as it feels in saying it, but it is true!

This is not a commentary on mental health at all, but I do believe that every human has a certain amount of insanity inside of them. Some a lot more than others and some a lot less too.

This leads to creativity and in better seeing the world differently than others.

Some I admire, and some... WHY?

If you care or not is fine with me... I am here to cultivate writing roots of sorts (one does need leaves too), and to learn and share.

I have been published many times over in trade rags, but never for the writing that I want to do.

Cut me and I bleed Science-Fiction.

How many writers here on BlueSky self-publish?

And if you do, do you like KDP or do you prefer something else?

My mother-in-law owns a publishing business and I am trying to figure out what is best. She does not like KDP, but KDP appears to be fast and easy.

Thinking to try both and see.

Had an idea for a story... because of my appreciation for female brain physiology (I am a guy), where a woman is the brains behind some large organization. Outthinking male competitors, and seriously benefitting from a female mind.

Although I have interest in many genres, I prefer science fiction.

Does social media help you write?

So many articles I've read talk about just engaging yourself and writing kind of like an exercise, so I figured social media might help with that.

Some useless thought pops in my mind...write about it... does that work?

Could social media be considered "digital flirting?"

Just thinking playfully on terminology, but when you strike up some interesting dialog with someone...isn't it kind of like flirting?

Not thinking in terms of intimacies or getting involved with someone on a personal level so much.

Although I consider myself a contemporary thinker, I find that my views of AI do not always match the thinking of others.

I do not believe that AI should be allowed to steal the job of writing (creative or otherwise), but I view AI as an assistant. Something to bounce ideas and to check syntax.

WISH I could say I have something finished, but it is what it is... My work in progress...

Book: Demystifying AI (draft in review)
Book: Detecting AI (outline and notes)
Book: (Kid book) The Farm Ninja (outline, pics, and pieces)
