We actually didn't see him die in CC. James Gunn has commented on the fact that electricity doesn't normally affect Clayface. In Batman TAS, he even uses electrocution to fake his death and get away. Plus, the Clayface movie is being written by Mike Flanagan, so I hope Clayface is alive for that.
