If all you have to offer is smug, accusatory, victim-blaming bullshit, then I'm sorry, but you offer less than those who "voter blue no matter who." because you actively harm the community, and maybe it's time to turn off the computer and take an honest look at yourself in a mirror.

Look at Mamdani's success. It was all about community, engagement, and having something meaningful to offer; not just finger pointing. We need to bring that energy to the community and stop shitting on our potential political allies because they tried to make the best of a bad situation.

You can't vote progressive if there isn't a progressive candidate. Instead of finger pointing, stfu and do something to fight for better choices. Create a space where people feel welcome and support candidates who represent that space. Encourage populism over corporatism.

Next, you have to, HAVE TO, stop acting like voting starts and ends with the election. Want change? Don't blame people for their limited choices. Encourage engagement. Drive attendance at primaries. Canvas for candidates. Make calls. Encourage progressives to run and work to build support.

You make it acceptable for moderates to vote for someone that is more left than what they are comfortable with. Share the understanding that it is better to start left and compromise moderation than to start in the middle and compromise right. Get people comfortable with supporting left of themself.

It's a sentiment that needs to exist not for the left, but for moderates; for centrists. As progressives, we need to focus on building community, and accusations, smug superiority, and alienation do nothing but harm. The starting place is to build unity, goddamnit! To build universal support!
