#70. Under the Whispering Door. I love books. My whole life, I've been able to disappear into them. As an adult I have rated a lot of books 5 stars because I can't compare them to each other, but rather to what it is they intended to do. (1/7)

#69. A Sinister Revenge. I thoroughly enjoyed dipping back into a Veronica Speedwell mystery. This is easily in my top 5 favorite series. Love how Veronica and Stoker's characters have developed over these books! 💙 #Booksky

#68. Shee McQueen: Bloodlines. Spin off series from Pineapple Port Mysteries, and I love how different it is! These are like cheesy action movies in book form. 😄 #Booksky

#67. Pineapple Easter Egg. Always fun revisiting Pineapple Port and all of its wacky characters. 🥰 Light mysteries with laugh out loud moments and plenty of absurd crimes to solve. #Booksky #FloridaMan

#66. Crocodile on the Sandbank. I started with audio but did not enjoy the narrator. I hear the version with multiple actors is much better. Switched to Kindle and loved this story! Looking forward to reading more of this series. Similar energy to Veronica Speedwell. #Booksky

#65. The Third Gilmore Girl and my second memoir of this year. I had no idea about Kelly Bishop's history and her journey was a joy to read. From A Chorus Line to Gilmore Girls and everything in between. I also love that she recognized her writer by name. Lindsay Harrison did a lovely job. #Booksky

#64. Scripts and Empty Crypts. Mitzy Moon is one of my all time favorite main characters. I have enjoyed every bit of her psychic journey and love the moments with her Ghost-ma! This was a great next installment. #Booksky

#60-63. Magic Bullet: 4-book Series. Absolutely love Annabel Chase's ability to build a world quickly and bring me right into a little light adventure. Dijinn magic, strong female characters, fun story. #Booksky

#59. My First Five Husbands... This kind of reminded me of stories my older family members would tell when I was growing up - out of nowhere with random details, a punchline, and usually glossing over something that probably shouldn't be glossed over. I loved the ending. #Booksky

#58. An Impossible Imposter. Y'all this is such a great series! I am bummed that I have a 6-week wait to get the next one on Libby and also grateful that it's forcing me to take my time and fully enjoy this ride. #Booksky

#57. The Tattooist of Auschwitz. If this had taken place in a fictional concentration camp then I would have appreciated the story more (despite my issues with the writing style.) But it feels irresponsible to bill a book about the Holocaust as "based on a true story" without fact-checking. #Booksky

#56. Future Tense. This is my favorite of the series so far. It has a lot of fun sci-fi elements while also keeping a low-stakes cozy mystery vibe. Really enjoyed the aliens storyline! #Booksky

#55. Hex to Nothing. Always fun to visit New Orleans and this delightful cast of characters. This series is one of my favorites from this author because it manages to weave in neurodivergence along with the mystery-of-the-week without minimizing the experience or being heavy-handed. #Booksky

#54. Motions & Murder. It was such a pleasure to return to Keyhole Lake with this short story. Glad to see Tegan Maher back in my cozy mystery queue! Light on the mystery, heavy on the southern charm. #Booksky

#53. An Unexpected Peril. Loving the journey with Veronica and Stoker. Usually I don't enjoy the read as much when my main character makes annoying decisions, but in this case it felt appropriate to who she was. Change, even when positive, is challenging and it's human nature to resist it. #Booksky

#52. A Calculated Risk. I liked the heist but I don't think the book knew what it was. The tone shifted abruptly between heist and romance (I guess?), and the flashbacks to the 1800s seemed out of place. The romance itself felt like it happened out of nowhere. This book just wasn't for me. #Booksky

#49. A Murderous Relation. Another great installment in Miss Speedwell's adventures. This series has been thoroughly enjoyable, and I'm grateful that the waiting list in Libby has forced me to take my time with it. #Booksky

Dude I've read A LOT the last couple of weeks!

#48. The Small and the Mighty. This book tells the stories of those adjacent to the historical figures we can all name. And Sharon McMahon does an excellent job bringing their stories to life in a very relatable way. Highly recommend. #Booksky

#47. The Gargoyle Beguiles the Beauty. This time, the leading MAN gets the charmed shopping experience and finds the perfect shirt tailored to his broad chest and slim waist - off the rack. I love Kristen Painter. #Booksky

#45 & #46. Latest installments from paranormal cozy powerhouse Amanda M. Lee (aka Lily Harper Hart.) Particularly in stressful times, I love a series that I can count on, and Lee is always ready with some snarky witches. 💜 #Booksky

#44. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. Though I figured out part of it, there were still some good twists and turns to this mystery. I liked the main character a lot! #Booksky

#43. If you're in the mood for a good romance, Book Lovers ticks all the boxes. It made me laugh out loud twice which was a very nice bonus. I really enjoyed the banter and actually teared up near the end. #Booksky

#42. Tress of the Emerald Sea. I really enjoyed my first Brandon Sanderson book! Fairytale with incredible world-building. Sanderson certainly lives up to his reputation! Would recommend this to anyone who wants to dip their toe in without having to commit to thousands of pages. #Booksky
