The only people to blame for the OT are the devs themselves. If they had hit their deadlines, there wouldn’t be any “crunch” it’s as simple as that. That is the story. I don’t remember reading about devs complaining that the schedule was too tight and that the deadlines were unrealistic

Several deadlines, and they have already been paid as if they had hit them, which is one of the reasons why the overtime is mandatory, they are behind. The game has a set budget, and time frame it needs to release by. These schedules are discussed and agreed upon… if it’s too tight, speak up!!

You also need to look at it from the other way. I know it’s “cool” to hate on the corporation, but salaried devs get paid even when they aren’t working, like if they leave early to go to their kids softball game or something, they still get paid for the full day. And like you said, they missed

Also how many jobs have a stocked kitchen full of drinks and snacks open to all staff to help themselves? I’m pretty sure every Sony studio has. And I know a bunch of Sony studios provide catered dinners when overtime is being asked of

Jason, I love your reports cause they are based on facts. But this just feels like a hit piece, there is so much hearsay “leaving some staff wondering..” come on, you are better than this. I mean you literally confirm that they have already missed not 1, not 2, but several deadlines

The games for impact category should have been renamed “games no one has heard of or played” this year. The only game I had even heard of was South of midnight

MS owns and funds and has final say for COD development. To say they had NOTHING to do with development is extremely naive. And why are you allowed to insult me, but when I don’t just take it, you cry and play victim? Do you always act like the victim when you are wrong? Act like a princess ;)

I love how games that were 2026 had a Xbox Series logo and games 2027 and beyond just said Xbox. The amount of labels this confused company uses is insane. Xbox Series, Xbox, Xbox on PC, Xbox play anywhere, Xbox Gamepass

I ended up watching the second half of the game on YouTube last month after seeing people say it would be GOTY… the ending was a joke… what was the point of all the build up from act 1. Probably the worst game in the history of the world. I won’t ever consider anything the studio does

Act 1 was incredible, one of the best stories ever… then for some reason they undid everything they were setting up.. games don’t always need a twist… especially one that made me put the game down, delete and return to Amazon.

And they seemingly spent the entire budget on Act 1. I’ve never known a game that started out so good but by the end became the worst game I’ve ever played. Did critics only play act 1? I wouldn’t have even given it a 20 meta overall.

I also think due to the rumoured paper specs being a lot weaker than Magnus, I imagine the mark Cerny tech talk will happen in September 2027 where they also announce price and release date. I also have no clue what Xbox will have to release with Magnus. It’s going to be Series all over again

Well I assume they will announce Magnus at the Game Awards next year. Imagine both PS and Xbox ask Geoff if they can announce next gen at the GA’s? lol. Though I do think PS will want to show a ton of games with it’s reveal, so it would make more sense to do it Summer of 2027 at their own show

lol well according to Sneakers (dude who leaked the last major layoffs and 3rd party strategy). There are major layoffs and studio closures coming early 2026 …and they will likely raise gamepass prices again next year as well
