Addicted to writing, love to read, have too many dogs (though there's really no such thing!) Also passionate about video games, and very sleepy.
That's absolutely fair. I just saw the Libby statement and that's really unfortunate, to say the least.

One thing to note about Pocketbook besides is that depending where you are, it doesn't come with a storefront. You'd be bringing your own books.

Hope you're able to find what you're looking for!

If I wouldn't have gotten a Kobo for a couple reasons, I would've went for a Pocketbook e-reader. I think they recently even got Libby support.

What aspects are you most fond of? And do you have a link so I can maybe follow you? 👀

I'm reading one non-fiction (Codependent No More, which was heavily recommended to me, but kind of a heavier read) and one urban fantasy (Crave, I picked it up mostly because I needed something less serious.) I just got The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow and have Mistborn on hold at the library.

Hello! I just started a booksky account as well, trying to get back into reading after a long hiatus.

What book(s) are you reading right now?

I hope it goes well for you! My ability to learn other languages is not great, but I can at least say I love the Magic Treehouse from when I was a kid.

What made you pick that particular series?

I love dystopian books, and always have. But I agree things have been scary. I've never read anything by Margaret Atwood so I'm looking forward to it.

I have a long tbr but my library has The Handmaid's Tale ready to be borrowed so I'm excited.

What are you reading?

I'm swapping between two books, one non-fiction (Codependent No More) and one much lighter (Crave.) First book started out difficult but is going better now, and Crave I started at one point, and am back at now that I have an e-reader.

Planning on picking up The Handmaid's Tale soon.

Honestly, I haven't read it since high school but I absolutely hated it back then. I kept thinking I should give it another shot and that teenager me was unfair to the book, but seeing this makes me feel better about my decision to stay away.

Thanks for posting this! I have a friend who loves all of the above, so I'm going to pass your recommendation on to them.

Oh man I wish I had that ability! I think the most I could do would be three books, maybe? But I primarily read fiction, I just try to switch up the genres and intensity between books. I'm trying to get back into reading now, after a long hiatus myself.

What did you think of it? I'm in line for it at my library over Libby, but it'll be a while before I have access. I've heard really good things!

I don't think Hoopla works on Kobo either but could be wrong. Kobo lets you directly browse your library on the device, Kindle requires you to use a PC or an app to do it.

If you live outside the US, Kindle won't let you use your library at all. Part of my motivation was to not use Amazon tho.

Just got a Kobo Libra Color for the holidays and love it. The e-ink helps with eye fatigue for me, and eye pain.

Fun fact, you can also borrow ebooks from the library on it too!

But if you're not feeling like you'd use it much, that's definitely a major point against it.
