Another Cap-Teeth descriptive could be the "biting down," "champing at the bit." Given the temp was swallowed, maybe it was simply not "integrated" enough tied to determination? The gritting of one's teeth to prepare to take action? I think Cap is So Much Body/Physicality!

Interesting about toddlers + language. In Greece much of my tutoring/ESL was accent correction bcz kids learned English from Gks who'd learned it from other Greeks in Athens resulting in English words pronounced w/huge Greek accents. So mimesis, too! (Also: that Hungarian/Finnish thing.)

Makes me wonder whether it's easier for native-born speakers of the Category 3 languages (if there's some neuro component) have an easier time quickly picking up other languages. Or perhaps it's simply the more languages you've learned the easier to learn more. Bests from Manhattan!

I'm curious whether Christopher Nolan's Odyssey film will include snippets of Greek in it or ancient Greek music. 2/end

Oh I will check it out and thank you! One of the interesting things about why Cavafy's poems are so challenging to translate is he'd incorporate Classical, Katharevousa ("govt" Greek in contracts, laws etc. literally "cleaned up" Greek ) and Modern (Demotic). 1/

Curious if Modern Greek is category 3 (and if category 3 is a bit tiered). Is it assumed that any language with a different visual alphabet falls into category 3)? Fascinating read.

Would a temporary "cap" be the True Zodiacal Cap wanting to ingest something? Unsure if we can count a "cap" as symbolic of Cap's teeth. I hope it's all OK.

Have you seen "Train Dreams" yet? Highly recommend as one of this year's bests. That movie's final scene evokes this one but in an exquisite way.
