I assume applying for, and receiving an Employer Identification Number. When you make a new LLC, the entity has to be registered with the federal government so one can pay federal taxes. I think you might need one to set up a business bank account too. No bank = no place to put the kickstarter money

My favorite thing was it randomly crashing after I had 30+ hours in it, only to discover that I had to update my .NET framework libraries to fix it. Intensely frustrating experience.
