Hi!

I am going to need to take some sort of a break from my DA replay cycle to replay Baldur's Gate 3 and Mass Effect. Also would like to replay Jedi Survivor.

Like with my first attempt at the mage origin. The possibility of seeing Jowan again wasn't enough to attach me. However, restarting and allowing myself to connect to the character made me fall in love with the origin.

Each origin encourages you to see the world differently. The references in the main story aren't essential. The largest impact is how your character's experiences changes how you see everything once you arrive at Ostagar.

I think the Origin is underrated. Yes, you don't see your clan again, but there's still unique dialogue with the Dalish clan you recruit. It's a cool perspective. Dalish may not be as impactful as the other origins, but it's still solid. Seeing Tamlen when your camp is attacked was cool and sad.

I agree. I think it's probably true for TFA, but it doesn't resonate with what's on screen in TLJ. I'd assume Johnson had a different vision for Kylo which was then carried on into TROS

No problem. I enjoyed reading it

That was a great thread and I definitely agree

Another benefit of starting with the prequels, is Vader's redemption. In the OT we're told there's good in him with no evidence. The PT don't just show us good, but they make us hope for his redemption.

Plus tragedies play on us knowing what's to come. So even spoilers can't minimize the tension. If you have time, throw in TCW and ROTS is even more devastating. The more the prequels hurt, the more invested you are in the OT.

I'd love a scene of Dex yelling at Qui-Gon

Another reason I feel Qui-Gon is overrated as a Jedi. I do think these flaws would have been a problem when training Anakin

Kylo staying evil wouldn't have been earned. They put too much time into his internal struggle and how pulled towards the light he was in TLJ. We see him try to double down but his attempts aren't convincing. He seems more conflict when TLJ concluded than when the trilogy began

It may have been their intent, and based on the interviews it probably was. However, the actual storytelling leads in the opposite direction. I think changing their plan made the most sense and led to a more satisfying conclusion.

He's an antagonist, but we're never led to believe he's evil on the level of Palpatine or even Vader in ANH and ROTJ. We're just randomly told Vader has good in him in ROTJ. With Ben we're shown his struggle. To be like "nvm he's the main evil" would have been so unsatisfying
