In the military before I retired, I had Airmen beg me to stay in and try for higher rank to try to change the way we operated. However, there's only 2 directions.. up and out the way. And if you sit in that spot hoping for up, you stifle the Airmen that NEED to grow.

Get these old folk out of office! If they can't let go of the reigns- make them a "consultant" job for junior senators and representatives... they work part time like a Walmart door greeter and then go home and get to feel like they are still of use.
