Better yet, this was the *only* launch pad they have available for manned rockets and ISS service spacecraft. This incident has crippled Russia's ability to send people to space. Granted, it doesn't seem impossible to repair, but it would take megabucks from an already-strained space budget.

A siege of Kaliningrad or St. Petersburg would probably make them change priorities in a real hurry. Trading land for peace is easier when Russian territory is on the line.

I guess they could bring the situation somewhat in balance by selling Siberia to China. But they might have to hurry up while China is still willing to pay for it.

And by "good business partner" he means "American state and private funds are poured into Russia, 50% of it is channeled back to Trump's own personal pockets, the oligarchs can have their pickings of the rest". He doesn't care if anyone else makes any money.

They shouldn't just be open to it, it should be the very foundation of its and its allies' security architecture. "Any funny business, and Moscow goes" should be the default standing doctrine. That's deterrence. "Um, two weeks" is the opposite.

I hope someone can help bring some light and heat to Moscow. A few million degrees in a very bright flash would do the trick. Repeat it across town until no longer needed.

That should be the clear and stated doctrine. Any funny business, and Moscow goes. No beating around the bush with incremental escalations or second chances. Moscow goes first, and we'll take it from there with whomever remains standing.

On the flip side, it will cost Ukraine a lot of money to repair everything later. The scattered fiefdoms of former Russia won't be able to pay enough reparations to fund all the repairs.
