Are you a marxist? how much something costs to make is not just labor and parts. They spent a fortune on R&D of course. CPUs sell for more than the cost of the materials and the time to stamp them in the machine.

Just plowed through Breakneck by Dan Wang, part way through it I started to wonder if he'd read Caro's The Powerbroker, then at the end he brings it up, has some interesting takes.
