I'd say that it would depend on if that's something you want to do. When it comes to fan games, it's more about what you as the creator get out of it than anything. Since you can't really monetize your work, you need to enjoy the work and the final product. If you want to make the project, do it.

Cool, while not quite as expansive as over 700 digis, I worked on a lot of the digimon that appeared in Pokemon Infinity. Always happy to see more pokemon/digimon crossover games. : >
