It’s so easy to get down on technology but I just watched a person who spoke no English ask for help from a clerk who spoke no Spanish. One spoke into their phone, it translated and they showed the screen to the other and so on back and forth. It’s not much of a win but it’s something.

Still watching West Wing episodes to soothe the election pain. Why don’t we have passionate, authentic people running the actual government? And yes, I want them to sound like Sorkin dialog too. @bradleywhitford.bsky.social was really good in this episode but this clip doesn’t show it.

Me: Good thing we have the 3D printer so I can make the stocking hangers for the stairs.

I know this is getting cliche but I want to thank @bsky.app for this platform. I had an account at that other place for over a decade and during the past couple of years, I had gotten to a point where I didn't want to reply because of the bots and trolls. I don't even have controversial opinions.

Outrage and protests won’t matter anymore so then why watch at all? Why call out the dishonesty if truth has no value? Why give them the audience? I am going to try to find meaning in the things I can influence and filter out the toxic things that I cannot.
