Do you think if the republicans had come out only talking about a clean CR, and no other issues, this would be over? While I can see your point about the Dems, I’m not sure the Reps are sincere about discussions on healthcare when the gov reopens.

I think it could work if the story incorporated race, gender, etc. I think there are plenty of parallels in our current society.
