Home from the mini vacation. Kids had fun but man, everything there was so expensive. 6 dollars for a candy bar is insanity.

I wanted to spin up a project I did 11 years ago and it used Compass to build the css. It was a virtual piano that you could play.

And then I ran into this. Since when has it not been maintained?

Fun fact, I worked with the creator while I was at LinkedIn.

I made lasagna tonight and garlic bread. Tastes better than I thought it would.

Is it okay to settle for 100%? It's like getting an A when your parents expected an A+, yeah?

She’s came darting into the office after me like I was holding a treat. And then she just plopped down. My guard bunny.

She’s my favorite most favorite bunny.

Someone wanted to learn Neovim so I told them they can program with me and I’ll just yell motions at them. They actually said yes.

So that’s what I’m doing this morning.

I went through 45 pdf files to extract certain data from it. I then wrote a script to ocr and send it to openai/gpt-oss-20b. And then I wrote another script to just send the pdf to qwen/qwen2.5-vl-7b which has vision.

qwen had 93.7 accuracy and gpt-oss-20b with 89.5% accuracy.

How long it took for a model to extract data from 45 pdf files all running on a mac book pro. Had relatively good accuracy (not perfect, but passing).

Running qwen/qwen2.5-vl-7b locally to extract certain pieces of content from a PDF. Pretty slow on a macbook but faster than me going through all the PDFs myself.

I think @KevinNaughtonJr is a great engineer that makes great products and he's also kinda funny too.

Also he loses in Fortnite with the best attitude.

I'm testing his product. You should too.
