Just reading the second #themarlowmurderclub book, and finally had to look up how the Brits do their crosswords. I had no idea it was so very different. As someone who does the Times crossword daily, these cryptic crosswords are a foreign language entirely.

Woke up on the 4th of July and asked my English friend if they would please take me back.

Finished reading the Marlow Murder Club. Sadly, I did figure out the mystery before the end, but it almost didn’t matter. I really enjoyed each of the main characters enough to not care. On to the second book!

I’ve been having such terrible sleepiness during the day. Literally falling asleep on the floor during the day. I thought perhaps my diet was the issue so I’ve been eating well. It’s better, but still falling asleep multiple times per day. Fun times, super productive.

I feel like there are so many books coming out all the time, in so many unique subgenres, and I never find them because I’m overwhelmed by the number of choices, both online and in stores. How do people find new books to try now? #booksky

I have an interview today, and I’ll have to lock my dog in the bedroom so I can concentrate. I tried to explain that I need income to keep her in fancy food and probiotics, but she is unmoved. #jobsearch

I would kill for the HR industry to embrace interview questions written by and for people who don’t think in terms of revenue, metrics, sales, etc. Especially for jobs that are not in sales or marketing or anything related to metrics.

Struggling to find a writing routine lately. When you’re fully employed, you always think “oh I don’t have the time” and then when you are between jobs, you’re too stressed to focus. #writing

Yesterday, I made a total of $16.70 doing my editing work, and today I’m spending $13 on a savory pie from a food truck. So, obviously society is going great. No notes.

Just finished Listen for the Lie (in audiobook format). It was a really fun read. Went to my next audible recommendation, and it was also a crime novel about a true crime podcast. Is this a whole genre now? Did it exist before Only Murders in the Building and I just didn’t notice?

Already wishing I were back in the forest with my pup.
