It's a good time to be together with family and think of those we lost in the year or those still navigating this crazy but potentially wonderful world. For a few days we really can eat, drink and be merry. But for those who demand to eat, drink and be Mary. Please give it a rest as it's Christmas.

Had dinner in Chicago with an astronaut chatting about Challenger carrying a school teacher. Afterward I went to Canaveral to watch a Shuttle launch. Columbia, the only other shuttle lost two decades after the flight I watched. The astronaut I had dinner with flew safe. But died climbing Everest.

It is more civilised. Has been from the start. X has become a parody of itself with ever more extreme views trying to outdo one another. Here you can at least chat to folk and not feel like somewhere in the darkness behind your screen are 1000 knives waiting to attack you. Here you can converse.

Both my parents.

Happy holidays. I was only ever in the States once on Thanksgiving. 42 years ago. But I know and understand why it matters. Have a great day.

It's more civilised. For now. You can talk sense and not be swamped by wannabee's itching to not merely disagree - as rudely as they can imagine - but win some imaginary fight. I gave up on Twitter when its first 4 letters defined too many of its contributors. And its last 6 were all they did.

Yes transsexuals should all be asking about that definition of biology. The fact none were allowed on the stand at the court to point out that our biology changes irreversibly was surely a fact that is very relevant to any decision making. Those who ID can just go back and detransition. We cannot.

That is a very long but very cogent assessment that many more people should read than likely have. Right now a lot of people see this as a victory for common sense. But I suspect in years to come when this 'sense' filters into their family lives too in unexpected ways they might have to think again.

How can a committee dealing with equality have a member, let alone a figurehead, that has a record of bias? Surely balance is de rigour in such a position. At the very least being able to see both sides has to be the purpose of someone in this position. Are there enough who see that with a vote?

Wonderful interview. Cheered all the few old school transsexuals I know. You told it like it is and said what we would. Thank you on behalf of voices forced into silence. I transitioned with the NHS 51 yrs ago and have had an amazing life. Until the Supreme Court. Thank you for speaking for us.

I always thought they had it backwards. Not TERF but FRET. Because that is what they do - fret over things that hardly ever happen.

A transwoman acts like that man then yes they need stopping. But we only create a new menace if we enable vigilante patrols to stop a presumed threat by 'trans people'. It is unwise to presume what that behaviour will be. React to events not assume guilt on basis of bodily features that can mislead.

Inevitable outcome of not determining inclusion or exclusion on misbehaviour but perception. The angry behaviour came from a man, not a transwoman. However, the presumption of guilt as trans was misdirected on a false premise of who was the threat when actions not identity should be how we judge.

I am 50 years post op and 5 ft 4 in. On that hilariously rigged diagram I would be a speck off the bottom right beside the nurse let alone the doctor. Regardless of the genuine argument that may exist on access it is not helpful to try to make it look so bad that it is absurd as that diagram does.

20 years ago it was a handful of fully transitioned people making no fuss about being 'special' but having a good life hard earned. No crashing sports etc. People were OK with that. Then it became alphabet soup and a free choice not a rare treated mental health issue. Cross dressers are not trans.

Self ID is the main reason trans rights are down the toilet. When it was 5000 medically transitioned, psychiatrically vetted people in the UK most were OK. Once activism made it a choice for children and imposed silly pronouns the inevitable followed. GRC holders with sense long opposed self ID.

What if you legally transitioned so long ago your passport never had anything but F never M? Because of no sex marker pre transition. There are transsexuals who transitioned 60 years ago still alive. If they suddenly get M on their passport for the first time what will their record infer?
