It seems like your point was that you like to go into detail about why something is good more than going into detail about why something is bad. To me they're equally valuable but if that's your preference it's fine.

Disagree. As long as your critiques are well thought out and not needlessly cruel then it could help people decide if they like it/ help the author improve.
