Simply that there is a spectrum within the party. I'm sure you know what I mean. I could never support a Bernie or an Elizabeth Warren in a primary. I'm drawn more to an Andy Beshear or Roy Cooper. In any event I would almost always vote for the Democrat in the general election.

I really don't think I need to explain that. It's rather obvious which party continues to focus on identity politics. Biden saying he was going to nominate a Black woman to SCOTUS and Newsom saying the same for his Senate appointment. It's a real turn off to a lot of people.

You come to where I teach and you'll see what I mean. On our job applications the first two paragraphs are about our commitment to social justice, how we are a Latino serving institution, what percentage of every group works here are minorities, and how proud we are of this. That is DEI nonsense.

I am NOT a Republican. I'm not a liberal either. I'm a center-left Democrat.

If the party runs any further left it will lose me. I'm sick of the identity politics and DEI nonsense. It's completely out of control here in California. It's not winning us any voters, that's for sure.
