why dont people sit on floors anymore. i used to plop down on floors and just hang out

my bestfriend lives in a different continent and we dont speak daily since we're both introverted but everytime we chat i always have the urge to listen to the sad songs we used to listen to in highschool and im always so afraid to cave in that desire since i'll definitely cry and yearn and be sad

there are times that i feel bad that i read more fanfiction than actual books. thinking that it's a waste of time and it's counterproductive, that it's not any better than doomscrolling on twitter or tumblr or here.
