That was my mom's doing. She raised us to know that nobody has the absolute truth, and that the only thing that never varies is that everything changes. Once it became evident that I'm prone to be mistaken, it became easy for me to keep an open mind. I thank you, though, for the way you delivered it

About being from anywhere, other than the fact that all of us have to deal with whatever is exclusive to where we live, to me all that nationality or place or residency stuff is overrated and irrelevant. Plus, I actually spend an inordinate amount of time in the US visiting and for work, haha.

Yup, my wife and I started looking this morning. I figured there'd be some good people out there willing to teach online to improve all our lives.

Ok, there's nothing I can do about that. Sorry you feel that way.

My mom had vascular dementia for 9 years before she passed away, hit me a few times (once with a cast iron cooking spoon), and I never raised a finger to touch her. So, based on that, I think I wouldn't, no.

And no, unfortunately there's nothing like that in my country (that I'm aware of). But it'll be a great subject to send to our government see if they start implementing it. I genuinely appreciate your candor without any finger-pointing. That's a trait that seems to be scarce nowadays.

Know what? That's a pretty good option as well. I don't think I'll ever have to do it anymore, the youngest one is already 9 and very well behaved (though a clown like his dad). But you're correct, that's way better than a slap anywhere. I thank you for bringing that option to my attention.

Again, don't know. I can't speak to stuff I've never experienced. I would hope none, but maybe you can shed some light on it.

I don't know, never had to do it. I'm assuming that one time and then let my wife handle it. Never been angry at my kids. Upset? Plenty. My kids understand that they are kids, and we know better, so they listen, and are listened to. So, again no idea. Would need to find myself in that situation.

Wao.
October 4, 2024 at 8:23 PM
So, by your logic, a slap in the wrist and a beating are the same? Not that I have ever hit my kids, thank God. Now, your kid is hitting you, you say no, they keep hitting you, you say no in a commanding way, and they keep hitting you. The next "no" will absolutely come with that slap on the wrist.
October 4, 2024 at 8:22 PM
Correct. And this applies to everyone, not just kids. If you feel you're about to lose it, just get out. And if that doesn't help, there's always therapy. That's another thing that blows my mind, most Christians reject therapy like the devil. We're human, our brain can malfunction 🤨. Mine does, lol.

I could not agree more. I'll go even further. Most Christians still live by dogma instead of living a loving, tolerant and forgiving life. This issue comes from the fact that they choose to follow humans instead of Jesus. If you have to say "I'm a Christian" to be heard, I instantly doubt. Prove it.

A slap on the wrist is one thing, a beat up is just wrong, abusive and plain evil.
October 4, 2024 at 4:14 PM
Same here. We were hit on suspicion, my kids have heard me mad, but my wife and I have never touched them (well, maybe to tickle the heck out of them, lol), and I expect them to follow suit when they have their kids.

As a Christian, I have a hard time dealing with this. These abusers call themselves Christians, while Jesus Christ's teachings are the complete opposite. We're called to discipline with love, understanding and tolerance, not violence. No wonder people stay away from us.

God! I'm so old 🧓

Speak for yourself. This is exactly what I deserve. 👀

Why is that even legally allowed? It makes absolutely no sense. If you mess me up, I sue you, it's that simple. Why are these companies allowed to completely destroy our rights?
