Thanks for following, and I'm hoping to have a new story out in the next few days, knock on wood. Here's to a better 2026!

And that's it! Damn I played a lot of stuff this year. Honorable mentions for games I played a lot of but didn't/couldn't beat are, in no particular order:
Modded Minecraft (GTNH specifically)
Guild Wars 2
Warframe
MtG Arena
Metaphor: ReFantazio (I'm, like, 15 minutes from the end lmao)

36. Hades II (Dec 7)
Hades nuts ayy lmao
It's good. Hades was good and this is just more, better Hades. I heard the original ending was bad but I never saw it and the new ending is, like, fine.
Also, Melinoe and Nemesis and Artemis and Eris and Dusa and Persephone are all wife.

35. A Case of Fraud
It was only a matter of time until people started making shitty Roottree-likes. I'm not ashamed to admit I beat this in under two hours and immediately refunded it. Also, the name is fucking awful, because it's not a case of fraud, it's a case of murder! There's no fucking fraud!

34. Returnal (Dec 4)
An amazingly good gameplay loop combined with the most fuckass "I'm 13 and this is deep" plot I've ever seen. Luckily, it's fun enough that the crap plot can be basically entirely ignored. Maybe Housemarque's new game Saros (which looks like Returnal 2) will have a better story.

33. Asbury Pines (Nov 29)
Another idle game, and one that's actually meant to last more than just an afternoon. God, the writing in this is so good... for, like, 90% of it, anyway. The ending is, generously, kind of a wet fart, but it's a hell of a ride getting there. Worth checking out.

32. Fallen Aces Episode 1 (Nov 21)
I like a lot of what New Blood publishes, but this ain't it. It's an imsim but the sim isn't very im. The only level that made me feel like they had something figured out was the last one - which was also their demo level. Maybe the next episode will be good.

31. Dispatch (Nov 14)
Not many people will say this, but Telltale games used to have the sauce. Dispatch is proof that the Telltale formula can, in fact, still have the sauce.
Also, Visi is wife.

30. Q-UP (Nov 13)
Finally, they made the perfect esport. The writing is so obviously written with game developers in mind that I have no idea if y'all normies can find it funny or not, but as a game developer, this shit hilarious. The game is good too! 2 coinflippers in a year, what a world.

29. Strange Jigsaws (Nov 4)
Strange Jigsaws is a game about strange jigsaws. I really can't say much more than that, other than it gave me mad mid-2000's flash game vibes in the best possible way.

28. Ball x Pit (Oct 19)
Frankly I'm shocked it took this long for someone to make this game. "Pong Action Roguelite" feels like it should have been solved a decade ago, but you know what? Ball x Pit fucking rules. BALLBYLON HAS FALLEN.
December 28, 2025 at 10:43 AM
27. Cloverpit (Oct 3)
I am presently playing through Panik Arcade's previous game Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom and I think they may be approaching ride-or-die status. The SAW-esque vibes of Cloverpit and its morbid humor are just so, so good, and the game's great, too! Let's go gambling! Aw, dang it.

26. Unfair Flips (Sep 29)
Get it twisted. If you lock in you can do anything. Your actions impact nothing. Your fate is predetermined. The only thing you can change is your reaction to it. You can do anything you set your mind to. The world is a playground designed for you and only you.
Tails.

25. RotGI Curse of the Last Reaper DLC (Sep 23)
Finally, some good fucking food. Curse of the Last Reaper tells a split narrative between the present RotGI era and wraps up some loose ends from the first Case of the Golden Idol game. A stupendous sendoff for a great game with some mid DLCs.

24. Strange Antiquities (Sep 17)
I never played the first one (Strange Horticulture) but being a purveyor of spooky antiques seemed like fun. And it was! Though, honestly, most of the puzzles were pretty easy, the vibes are quite good.
December 28, 2025 at 10:43 AM
23. Inventorix (Sep 11)
I like inventory tetris puzzles. I like roguelites. I especially like Luck Be A Landlord. So I like this. The balance is pretty wack, though, but it's pretty fun until you learn what the broken as hell combos are.

22. The Count of Monte Clicker (Sep 3)
Eh. I picked this up because the premise is charming and I liked the demo, and hoped the full game would add more depth to it.
It did not.

21. RotGI Age of Restraint DLC (July 15)
More Lemurian lore, though at least this one's more relevant since it delves into the high-tech society that built the Golden Idol in the first place. I didn't hate it like Lemurian Phoenix, but I was pretty cool on this one overall as well. One more to go!

20. Peak (July 4)
It's peak.
In all seriousness, it's a lot of fun and I'm so happy for my local indie boys Aggro Crab getting a smash hit like this. Now go play Going Under, too! It's also great!!!
December 28, 2025 at 10:43 AM
19. Tower Wizard (June 21)
I fucking love idle games, especially ones in the vein of (the) Gnorp Apologue that are finite and can fit in an afternoon. I wish this one was a little meatier, honestly, but it's a nice distraction.
