A lot of them strike me as people that don't actually like football (as evident from their grand total of zero appearances at their team's home stadium). Instead, they picked someone good, because they wanted the clout, and become petulant when they suffer mild discomfort.

"It's so hard being a fan of [team that is third in the Premier League with a squad full of expensive household name players]" they say, ironically, to a fan of a team that hasn't had a sniff off a trophy in over thirty years.
