Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. Autistic. My observable life is boring and predictable with bursts of brilliant bucket list worthy ventures. I have no idea how to summarize my inner life - but I like how it works.
Having a great time in Lisbon and managed to place 3rd at the tournament (not bad for 8 months post-op!)

Really don’t want to go back to Nashville on Sunday, but my dog is waiting for me and I miss him! Maybe I’ll take him on my next trip in a few months?

One week from today and I will be on my way to Portugal for the European Jiu Jitsu Championships. It will be my first event since hip labrum repair last spring and I’m looking forward to getting back out there!

Mediation was successful!

I opened by sharing my assessment of what I thought was happening; which caused a perspective shift and defused the situation.

Thankful to have a work team that ultimately cares about one another!

I’m getting called in for mediation on Friday between myself and our company VP

His complaint: my communication issues (in response to his recent unpredictability). This is gonna be heaps of fun right?

He has stated he still wants to work with me - just wants to work out a plan. So there’s that!

My boss is showing off videos he found on the tweet tweet/alphabet land app - and I just felt like posting something here on principle.
So for no other reason than that, here’s a photo of my dog’s nose as he chills during Jiu Jitsu class this morning!

My dad placed third in his age group at a triathlon today! He’s trying to qualify for a world tri team event in Spain next fall. He also got a qualifying time for the Berlin marathon earlier this year as well - not too bad!

There is so much going on in the world right now that I have to resist the urge to feel guilty for seeking inner peace.

I’ll be covering a couple classes for coach today - teaching lasso guard passes!

Since I was cleared by my surgeon last month for full impact after my hip labrum/fai repair, the hardest part of getting back to training has been convincing my Jiu Jitsu team mates that I’m not “broken” anymore.
At least not in that area - hEDS and all things considered.

Everyone else at work today seems to be more stressed than relaxed after the holiday.

I using the option to hide in my office with the overhead light off and work on spreadsheets in peace - with Dmitri assisting of course.

Made it through all our official Jiu Jitsu classes for the week and now it’s just holiday open mats left to get mat time in.

About 7 weeks until I leave for the European Championships in Lisbon, Portugal. It’s going to take some finesse to get proper training in around the holidays. I’m up for it!

My coworkers refer to me as the office canary. If I start to go down, they know they need to chill out as well. It’s a fairly workable system!
