President von der Leyen’s State of the Union framed this as Europe’s "independence moment." Clean, affordable, homegrown energy and resilient supply chains are central, with new initiatives on grids, interconnectors and industrial competitiveness.

President von der Leyen’s State of the Union framed this as Europe’s "independence moment." Clean, affordable, homegrown energy and resilient supply chains are central, with new initiatives on grids, interconnectors and industrial competitiveness.
Europe cannot reach its 2040 climate target without decarbonising its industrial clusters. These hubs drive jobs and competitiveness but also account for a large share of hard-to-abate emissions. Tools like the NZIA and Clean Industrial Deal are vital, but delivery is what counts.
