Bingo. Same with many Congressional Republicans. I’ve been expressing this sentiment for months: have these clowns no fear of repercussions from their constituents and/or other entities. Remember: he did say if Christians voted for him they’d never have to vote again (July 2024 I believe).

First thing I thought of was Spiro Agnew & the bags of $ he was receiving while Vice President during the Nixon administration. Rachel Maddow did a podcast called Bag Man. I think book too. He was freaking awful.

I’ve used an expression for the complacency…”fat, dumb and happy”; millions are sleepwalking thru it all. If you’ve caught the protests in the UK over the past couple of days - their numbers, bold messages and creative outfits put us to shame. They know how to do it. 🤷‍♀️

Think about going back to FDR & the new deal. Most Republicans at that time hated the programs. Many during that time believed democracy was dead & fascism was the way to go. In the 5 years I’ve been following History professor Heather Cox Richardson threads go back to the late 1800’s.
