To me that line is Sarah / Judy side-eying the audience. It's less about the truck drivers and more everything is infected with this extremely violent energy. The dubious nature of time in the series as a whole also comes up. How much does she know about what's going to happen?

In The Return it seems like the evil in the trees from the original series has expanded to even the "safe havens." We see a bullet fly through the window at the RR. The other commenter is probably on to something about Audrey's son driving the truck that hits the kid.
