It really is a hard pill to swallow but things just don't work out sometimes. It sucks. It's not a reflection of your ability or strategy. It's luck. I hate that it is but it is. I wouldn't have met the people I've met or worked on the projects I worked on if I didn't get lucky.

No. cause if you don't make it that means you didn't work hard enough. And that isn't fair to your efforts.
there are so many factors outside of your hands. So much success is luck, and failure is not always your fault. cut yourself some slack.
