I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

Exactly. Healthcare economics are NOT retail economics. The fact that doctors (rightfully) cannot refuse care based on one’s ability to pay, and no one can either opt out of or avoid emergency care, throws this idiotic comparison out the window.

Easy-peasy. When suffering a medical emergency, just issue an RFP to 3 or more emergency rooms. Review the submitted bids, including w/ your lawyer, and choose the cheapest!
