Working on a new novel. I call it a tiny novel. Not a novella. A tiny novel. If you call it a novella, you're sorely mistaken and I feel sorry for you.

Stay tuned for my tiny novel. Coming 2036.

Finally got around to reading GILEAD by Marilynne Robinson. It was boring, but also written with such conviction I couldn't put it down. At times, it felt closer to a book of philosophy or theology than a novel.

Spent time this morning thinking about what it means to “sell” my book to a publisher. My agent suggested changing the title of one of my novels because “positive/upbeat” is what they're looking for — which feels like the tail wagging the dog, but whatever, it's a small thing.

Just finished ONLY SON by Kevin Moffett ( @mcsweeneys.net ). It's stunning. Wildly moving and perfectly vulnerable. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new book. #booksky

I ran the NYC for the second time this year and had a grand time.

I just finished my last run before running the NYC Marathon on Sunday. Feeling good. Not gonna let the Queensboro Bridge fuck me up this time.

I rewatched and ranked Christopher Nolan's films. Let's fight about it.

I’ve been working through a list of “best” romantic comedies with my wife (which has vigorously reignited my love for Julia Roberts). Last night was Bridget Jones’s Diary and even within the framework of rom-coms, it’s very bad. I was kind of flabbergasted. Why was it such a phenomenom?

For all the talk on the Wiz not having a "star," I actually have a lot of stock in the Cam Whitmore leap. Excited to watch this dude this year.

Big Dumper has been a fantastic baseball story. A switch-hitting catcher crushing 60 homers and he's a Seminole?

Huge problem: he goes by Cal but his name is Caleb. A slap in the face to Calebs everywhere. Borderline unforgivable.

I spent today sitting with lit. Reading, writing, editing. It was a response to having my car in the shop. Now I wanna get rid of my car.
