I’ve observed this a few times lately and had been reflecting on it - perhaps the task was too difficult, and using ‘boring’ helped the child move away from the shame of not being able to do it. Another seemed to be using ‘I’m bored’ to seek connection.

Hi Jill, not directly related, but I’m in the process of supporting teachers to reframe support plan targets in terms of what opportunities staff will provide to support skill development, rather than what the child will ‘do’. Happy to chat further if this is of interest!
