The CDR documentary for the Swiss TV @nzz.ch I could be part of (26:11) is out! Check it out, English subtitles are available. Grateful to be part of it and trying to make the tricky concepts of CDR and OAE available to all!

@bopplaurent.bsky.social kicking off #LiegeOcean25 with a talk about the state of the climate and potential need for CO₂ removal (CDR).

The surface ocean has warmed by more than 1°C, which is astounding if you think about how much energy it takes to do that. 🌊

Made it to Liege! 56th International Liège Colloquium by @universitedeliege.bsky.social starting tomorrow, list of talks and posters looks quite exciting!
PS: Thursday’s session at 9:50 looks real fun… just saying…

Every year I have a great time visiting Washington DC, so many amazing buildings and landmarks. And on top that, getting to attend the Carbon to Sea convening makes the whole trip awesome!

Ready for the 2025 Carbon to Sea Initiative convening. Looking forward to the talks and posters over the next few days 🌊

I'm on an mCDR panel at #EGU25, but I just learned that our convener Carolin Löscher from Denmark won't be there.

She's been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer whose expensive treatment is only available in the US and UAE.

Ever wondered what 6 months of OAE with Ca(OH)₂ and Mg(OH)₂ look like?

I’ll be giving an oral presentation on it at the 56th Colloquium on Ocean Dynamics in Liège this May!

🔍 SPOILER: CaCO₃ makes a comeback… but maybe not in the way you'd expect...

Here’s the press release about what we’re up to these days. What isn’t mentioned in the text is how amazing it is to work with people as enthusiastic as I am, how incredible it is to see students so engaged in this project, and how teamwork truly feels like teamwork 🌊

Look who came to Kiel! Hamburg isn’t too far away, but only today did we finally manage to catch up for brunch. mCDR, projects, some reasonable complaining about life in Germany 🙃 and the idea of doing something together. Thanks @cmoras.bsky.social for visiting me (and for my 1st Christmas present)
