Great story from WCPO on my "Harm to Hope" initiative - an historic effort to reinvest the funds received from legal cannabis sales to the neighborhoods most impacted by its enforcement.

The Northern Gateway of Cincinnati, Hartwell, is a diverse & unique neighborhood in Cincinnati. It is named after the Vice President of the CH&D Railway, which had a large station near today's Hamilton County Fairgrounds. #Jeffreyswalksthe52 #Hartwell #Cincinnati

I appreciated the opportunity to appear on the Meyerside Chats podcast this week - a national podcast which "seeks to eliminate the 'us vs them' narrative" and toxic polarization.

Revive 75 has been a decade-long plan to revitalize the neighborhoods along the I-75 corridor, and it's nearing the completion phase. This is an exciting opportunity to bring more housing to the neighborhood and along the Mill Creek. #Jeffreyswalksthe52 #SpringGrove #Cincinnati

There were two presentations in Housing & Growth Committee today about the impact of lead in children in Cincinnati. The data is clear - exposure to lead harms our youth and is negatively associated with IQ, causing increased behavioral issues and lower school performance.

There was a presentation in committee today on the Mill Creek Valley Conservancy District. With a history of devastating floods, this is a crucial project to ensure the safety of thousands of residents and properties.

I'm proud to have voted in favor of the Ranchvale Connection on the Little Miami Scenic Trail today. This extension makes travel for pedestrians and bicyclists easier & safer to other regional trails.

Lots of exciting development going on in Avondale, particularly here at Gabriel's Place. This historic church is being renovated to a community center with youth & senior programming for the neighborhood, as well as affordable apartments. #Jeffreyswalksthe52 #Avondale #Cincinnati

Today, I put forward a motion requesting that the administration identify locations for youth football, similar to our public baseball fields. Access to organized and safe recreational activities for children is important to ensure our youth have healthy outlets.

UC's Main Campus is located in the neighborhoods of Heights and Corryville, and has seen dramatic change over the years. As the University's enrollment has expanded, the need for more student housing and development has increased as well. #Jeffreyswalksthe52 #Heights #Cincinnati

I put forward a motion in committee today requesting data on traffic citations by neighborhood. Injuries and fatalities have decreased over the years, but we need to stay vigilant that our enforcements efforts continue to work.

Bellevue Hill Park in Clifton Heights is another amazing view Over-the-Rhine and the West End. Originally an incline house built in 1876, the park is now a hidden gem on the end of Ohio Avenue. #Jeffreyswalksthe52 #CliftonHeights #Cincinnati

William Howard Taft was one of the few presidents from the Cincinnati area, and the only president to also serve as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Check out the Taft House to learn more about the neighborhood and City's history. #Jeffreyswalksthe52 #MountAuburn #Cincinnati

Members of Cincinnati's Housing & Growth committee had the opportunity to see a presentation on Experience Mill Creek today, which has been an ongoing project in my office for several years. Thank you to all of the stakeholders for their advocacy.

Very excited about this project in Winton Hills that will restore a former landfill site to a 62-acre solar array. Thanks to the Office of Environment & Sustainability and Green Bank for their partnership and advocacy.

In B&F committee yesterday, I introduced a motion to study the idea of expanding child care to CRC centers that do not currently offer those services. With the loss of ~3,000 child care seats since 2020, this is a necessary expansion for both children & parents.
